I have been shopping second-hand for almost two decades now. Shopping second-hand is a great alternative to buying from fast fashion. Although the best alternative to buying fast fashion is to NOT BUYING ANYTHING at all in the first place and to make use what you already own.

Since being a self-proclaimed pro-ukay ukay shopper, I have visited and shopped in numerous ukay-ukay stores. This post shows the top 5 places in Metro Manila where one can find the best deals when it comes to shopping second-hand clothes, shoes, and bags.

The top 5 places to ukay-ukay in the Metro!
Thank you to Mark for this beautiful illustration!

Important things to know : The building in Anonas houses countless of thrift stores. It would take you the whole day to go through all of the stores. Some stores even sell second-hand things, bikes, and furnitures. When on sale and new stock, this place is a great place to go to. Other times though, I find the items here very expensive [200 php and up] but it is still worth a visit!

Address : 967 Aurora Boulevard, Anonas Station

Operating Hours : 8:30 am – 8:30 pm, daily

Previous Haul : 2017 Anonas Haul

Important things to know : I included these thrift stores in Espana because I have found really great clothing pieces from them. These stores are near Welcome Rotunda, just right after Blumentrit. I spent most of my time looking through these racks while I wait for our laundry to finish up.

Address : URC Building, Espana Boulevard, Sampaloc West

Operating Hours : 9am-9pm, daily

Important things to know : Libertad is a busy area almost everyday. All the ukay-ukay stores in this area are just along the street leading to the Libertad Station LRT 1 line. These stores are mostly air-conditioned. This is the best area to thrift shop [to date] for me because they offer alot! With all the stores combined, you can score bags, shoes, and clothes – all which are of great quality! Definitely a must visit!

Address : Antonio S. Arnaiz Ave, corner Taft Avenue, Libertad Station, Pasay

Operating Hours : 8 am – 8 pm, daily

Important things to know : Makati Cinema Square is a mall which has several thrift stores inside. This establishment is near Greenbelt, Glorietta, SM Makati, and Ayala Station MRT Line. You can find cheap and great quality items here especially clothes for adults and kids!

Address : Makati Cinema Square, 2130 Don Chino Roces Avenue, Makati

Operating Hours : 11 am – 9 pm, daily

Previous Haul : 2018 MCS haul, 2019 MCS haul

Important things to know : Magarbo was the holy grail for my mom growing up. They had numerous chains of thrift stores across the South. Now, you can find their store inside a mall. I grew up shopping in Magarbo. I actually still have some pieces from my childhood which I still wear now. Magarbo has a lot of great branded pieces. If you are in luck and go to their store when they have new items, you might find branded pieces for only less than 200 php.

Address : LGF, Starmall Alabang, South Luzon Expressway

Operating Hours : 10 am – 9 pm, daily

Are any of these stores in your go-to places to thrift shop? Let me know which stores are your fave as well. Always remember to shop with precaution! Don’t buy things you do not need.
