Yes, this is a year ender post as well as a what-to-look forward to post. Just want to share and document my 2017 journey because it has been one of those years that changes your life.
What a year 2017 has been. I cannot emphasize enough how incredible this year has been for me. Earlier this year, I earned my license as an architect (YAY). I think it is one of my biggest achievements by far. Finally, an ARCHITECT; but then what? I had no job, no idea what I was going to pursue in the architectural field. I was quite lost for several months. Somehow jobs that were offered or available at that time were just not the right ones for me – this probably went on for about three months or so. Then around the end of June, I became hooked on watching youtube videos about organizing and minimalism (more so, Marie Kondo and The Minimalists). Consequently, my partner and I were trying on different business ventures (because maybe that was the way to go) to earn money. All were failures because during the early stages, we both knew they were just not going to work out. (HAHAHA)
Then on July 1, around 2 am, it dawned on me that I should start a blog. A family member was getting really ill during that time and it really shook me to my core that life is short: do what you love. (so cliche, I know; but shit got real.) Do it for yourself. Do it and not care what people may think. It took me around 2 months to garner the courage to publish my first blog post. Now, 3 months after my first ever blog post, I could not be happier. I have a long way to go though. Oh, and I landed a job in one of the leading real-estate companies of our country.
I am a firm believer that everything does work out for our good. (Jeremiah 29:11)
From the beginning, I knew I wanted my blog to be about a mix of things. I wanted to share what I know, the things I find, the joy of thrifting. Now, looking ahead for the incoming year, I see quite a different direction. I have already started writing on living a consciously environmental life but then I want to take it a step further; I will soon be uploading a weekly 1-3 minute video (will be keeping it short) on simple/basic ways that one can actually help the environment. As I lean towards the zero-waste lifestyle (consciously proving that it is possible here in the Philippines), I will be taking you along with me.
So for 2018, I claim it to be my year.
Cheers to the new year!
